    Children’s Kitchen (CK) is a startup IRS Non-profit organization, incorporated under the laws of the State of California in 2014. The president of CK is Jennie Moon, PhD, RD. Dr. Moon is a child nutrition specialist with experience in food service, teaching, and hospitals. She has a long career working with USDA Child Nutrition Programs on school lunches in California. Also on the board of Children’s Kitchen is dietitian, Jeannie Wakamatsu, MPH, RD, who teaches nutrition at community colleges.

    School lunch in Japan is more than just eating!

    "One of the most comprehensive changes the U.S. can make is to turn food into a modern learning tool. It’s all about attitude; even dishes like pizza or kimchi can become the medium through which students study history, biology, economics, art, and chemistry.     Teaching kids to cook may make them eat healthier

    "Getting kids involved in the kitchen, through cooking classes or at home, may make them more likely to choose healthy foods, according to a recent review.

    Cooking programs and classes for children seem to positively influence children's food preferences and behaviors, according to the new research. And, although the review didn't look at long-term effects of such programs, the findings suggest that such programs might help children develop long-lasting healthy habits."
